My old 2.0 Zetec Fiesta on throttle bodies

Postby muz » Fri Feb 26, 2010 6:06 pm

Just been going through my photobucket account and found pictures of my old Fiesta. Everytime I see it I'm gutted I never finished it and what a car it could have been.

Had a 2.0 Stage 3 Zetec engine (Kent cams and verniers, slightly raised compression, GSXR 48MM Throttle Bodies on Megasquirt, 4 branch manifold), was being resprayed in Audi Delphin Grey, Rare RS Assessory bumpers, 7J RS Accessory Wheels, Carbon roof and bonnet, Front Wilwoods, Zetec S Rear beam and focus RS rear disc, MK5 Fiesta dash, Orion 200E leather recaros etc etc

I took it off the road Sean to fit the throttle bodies, tidy it up with the roof, brakes, rear beam etc and paint it. The filler cap area was 100% mint as were the arches which is rare on a MK3 Fiesta and the underside looked solid when i went to view, albeit COVERED in waxoyl. Thinking that the filler area was mint the floor would be and the wazoyl was a sign it was well looked after. However the chap who owned it before sold it to his boss, who then sold it back to him, and in the time his boss owned it, he steam cleaned the underside EVERY week which had stripped the underseal off. When I jacked it up and removed the interior there was litrally nothing left under the waxoyl.

Both sides were like this. It needed, floor pans, inner and outer sills, rear chassis legs, floor to bulkhead coners  Then my brother told me the Escort was for sale, went to look at it and thought hmmmmm mint RST for £1500 or weld up this shitbox Fiesta. No brainer really.

The fiesta wheels? They are RS Accessory 7x16 ET35 wheels. I tried explaining to people they WERE NOT mondeo wheels but not many people knew about them. They were very very rare. Especially in Et35 as most were ET42. They were 1/2 wider and had a deeper dish an the spokes were about10mm chunkier than regular mondeo wheels. They were on 165/40/16 tyres there 8)

They do pop up on eBay mate, but aalot of people selling them also think they are just Mondeo rims. Just message everyone selling a set and see if they say 7j 16 in the centres like so. (can just about make it out)

You can see the dish in this pic 8)

Proper MK3.5 RS Accessory jobs. When they were on that car, there was only one other I knew of that had them. Pretty rare. They pop up now and again but always seem to be un painted. No one actually fits them

Best Fiesta bumpers by far. Wish I hadn't sold them TBH

Yeah I think it was £500 new. Mine was the reinforced honey comb version, which was more expencive but safer on the road. The aren't hard to fit, especially on a fiesta. Cut your existing roof out but leave 1.5 inches all the way around, sand it down and tiger seal it on.
