Sounds good matey.

Well worth tho if you can getting those con-rods changed for like H section steel rods at some stage, believe me :D

As for mapping, where you from matey?? Try Engine Advantages in Essex - is your top choice :supz:
Very good and very friendly service 8)

There is a link for him in the 'Links' section of this Forum.

Im from Herne Bay in kent so not far, Ill try em once I run her in. Know wot u mean bout rods n pistons but was on a budget but reall shoulda done as blown nearly 4k on it so stupid not too. Do you know if the standard ecu can be mapped or do u need a pectel board?

Best ask for Jano's techniqal knowledge on that one matey.

Did the same thing with an engine, built it working to a budget didnt want to go over it so missed out the rods for time being, bout 1000 miles later rod fails  not saying yours will as other things come into the equasion as well, like pistons, boost etc, but after buying everything new and having stuff machined etc all i could salvage was the sump

That was my lesson in dont cut corners with tuning :goodman:

Looking GREAT 8)

Your parts have been sent im sure you will have her running soon

Good bit of advise from Gareth, but as we know that its alot of money to be able to change the rods. just make sure your running a lower compression than what burton power supplied gareth with and you should be ok as long as you dont get boost greeeedy :D

Well I had similar spec engine in my last series 2 with k jet though running fifth injector and 17psi boost at 237 bhp, its still runing now so hope this one will last too but definitely agree if anythings gonna fail will be piston melt or rods. Hopefully the cossie management will fuel it better tahn b4 though, was urs running high boost? wot fuellin too. Like the motor u got now, whats with the jacked up bonnet, Im debatin this route as the throttle body just misses the bonnet and no other way around it rly other than use the blocks.

Jano about the pectel board do I need one to map it its level 6 btw? It maybe a standard cossie chip or may have been chipped not rly sure, is it essential to buy a base chip or can the settings be altered on the one thats in there?

Bonnets raised at rear to allow clearance for the throttle body as to get clearance for it over the zetec 16v rocker cover we had to space it back a bit further so thus the bonnet had to be raised slightly.
All good tho as helps get rid of that hot air that builds up under there from the engine, reducing heat soak slightly :D

Boost was running at 21psi at the time, but what I was sold by Burtons - if it was correct - could easily handle that level of boost and should of taken a LOT more
But bigger and better things are coming

I would advise the use of a pectel board as the L6 is quite slow anyway.
It is not essenital but will make the final result well worth it. :D

You will HAVE to use a decent base map or you are seriously looking for danger!

Please do not even turn the key with a std cossie map!!!!! Think about it a cossie has totaly different engine. 16v. and 2000cc!!! NO WHERE NEAR WHAT WE WANT OR NEED!! If you was able to read the data for yourself im sure you would understand a lot better.

Even in Gareths 16v setup a STD cossie base was totaly wrong even tho the engine was a similar design.

HTH

Jano
